I was doing some homework and for the first time really noticed the word "revision". For some reason, it hit me that it's not just about going back and adapting your work, it's about literally REphrasing the VISION of your work. Something I've struggled with when writing is that I often just throw my words on the page as they come to me and go until I'm finished. I hardly ever visit my work again with the intention to change and revise anything, but it is one of my goals as a writer for the coming year. I just find something so interesting in the notion that it's not just about revisiting the text, it's about revisiting the vision behind a piece.
