Imagine if Gus’s last scene on Better Call Saul was him walking up to Gale and kissing him...Am I the only one who feels some kind of romantic tension between Gus and Gale?
I wanna talk about what Peter Gould said about Gus, more specifically, how "Gus finds love".
In my opinion, it is either some flashback with Max, or some kind of metaphor - and he doesn't really fall in love with a person.
Having Gus be in a relationship, even with a man, is first of all, forced and probably completely unnecessary and contributes absolutely nothing to his character development and plot progression in both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul - and so I (at least) can't think of any good reason for doing that.
In addition, given that Gus had a full blown revenge plan over the death of Max, extending to around 20 years of planning and executing (no pun intended), I just doubt that he has the mental capacity for another huge commitment that comes with having a romantic partner. He is a human, after all. Giving him a partner will have definitely meant that he would have had to let go of Max. Let go of his plan, or else he would most likely be putting his relationship at risk.
However, he definitely does not let go of anything, as we already know. He is completely OBSESSIVE about his plan. It is clearly the only thing in his mind - the reason behind his each and every move. He is scared shitless of Lalo - not for his life, but for his PLAN (according to Esposito himself). He is scared Lalo will ruin his perfectly-crafted, flawless plan of unleashing the hellfires upon the cartel, and especially Hector, for murdering Max right in front of him.
Therefore, I see no reason a romantic partner would be of any interest for Gus, given his biggest and... only motive.

Yandere Gus Fring Headcanons
I was originally going to write a drabble, but I thought Gus would be a really interesting yandere to explore through headcanons!
- I think Gus is easily one of, if not the worst yandere to have in the bb/bcs universe
- what this man is capable of… is very terrifying
- his fixation with you probably begins with you working at one of his restaurants
- he treats you like he would any employee, maybe giving you a little extra attention
- but behind closed doors, he is learning everything he can about you
- your application and interview already told him most of what he needs to know
- he enlists Mike to set up cameras and audio recorders around your home
- he begins to have one-on-one meetings with you, asking what you think about your co-workers and how your personal life is doing
- at first, you don’t think much of it
- eventually, once he invited you to his home for dinner, you realized your boss really liked you
- once you arrived, he was professional as always, taking your jacket and pulling up a seat for you
- while he was serving you dinner, he made a proposal to you
- love him, be with him, and you will have everything you could ever want
- he made it so tempting, but you just weren’t sure
- he was an attractive man, you couldn’t deny that
- but you liked your job, and you weren’t sure if you wanted to be with only Gus for the rest of your life
- you eventually attempted to leave, but the door was locked with a key you didn’t have
- this was the moment everything clicked in your head
- the odd behavior, meetings, preferential treatment
- you never really had a choice; in the end, you were always going to be Gustavo’s
- he doesn’t believe in keeping you locked in a room or basement
- he keeps you locked in his house when he is gone, though, and has the most expensive technology designed especially to keep you in
- and the thing you find the funniest?
- he publicly donated $25,000 to your missing persons fund, which was literally created to help the police find you
- you eventually get used to your new life, seeing the beauty in everyday tasks and having time to catch up on your hobbies
- however, you get lonely when Gus leaves you to manage the other Los Pollos Hermanos locations
- you express this to him one day at breakfast
- he thinks for a second, coming up with the solution of having a child
- you agree, a bit weary of giving birth but being desperate enough for new company
- if you cannot get pregnant, Gus will adopt a baby for you
- Gus is actually an amazing father, showing care, love and patience to his child despite his often cold demeanor
- all in all, you are both great parents, and you learn to love Gus for all that he is
