He was beloved by the NRA. When Parkland happened, his daughter was 17. She asked him to do more. I guess he doesn't do shit by half because not only reformed gun control, he donated all the money the NRA ever gave him to charity, and now has straight Fs. In 2016 he was a 'top 20 politician for guns' He turned it that fast.
I know this is the website of catholic guilt structures, but the idea of a politician that changes their mind, doesn't pretend it was different before, admits he was wrong, and then gets shit done? I adore that.
I did not expect him, so I have not done my learning yet, this was one of the first things I saw. And Damn.
I don't wanna see ANYONE talking about how they won't be voting for Harris in November because of Palestine. This is the best it can possibly get. We're all depending on you. Vote.

Somewhere I saw a post that was like, "any state can turn blue if enough people vote."
This is very true. And with so much at stake here, you shouldn't assume that people won't turn out in droves to vote blue even in red states.
Project 2025/Agenda 47 isn't the kind of thing that normal, everyday Republicans actually want. Trumpers are a weird bunch. As we raise more awareness, your Republican swing voter types are going to be like, "hey uh, wait, this isn't what I want" and a lot of them are going to start eyeing Harris.
So even if you live in a red state, don't assume that your vote is meaningless. Do not. For one minute. Assume this.
Walz is a former school teacher, served in the army, and was very pro-active in getting progressive stuff passed in his legislature. Besides codifying abortion/IVF rights, see this list of his accomplishments. A solid pick.
Y'know, even with the solid track record as Minnesota Governor, I think the biggest benefit Walz might bring to the Harris campaign is that he just seems like a pleasant and goofy dad. Like, imagine being called "weird" by a guy who just wants to hang out with his kids and tease them about their vegetarianism. It stings because you know he means it

People are feeling hope for the first time in ages now that Kamala Harris is running for president.
People - everyday, ordinary people - are donating millions of dollars to her campaign.
Huge numbers of young people are registering to vote for her.
Donald J. Trump is scared shitless.
And it's only been three days since Joe Biden dropped out!
I don't know about yall, but I'm ready for a news cycle that doesn't reek of treason and childish rants. Hopefully, after the election and Don Cheeto goes to prison, we can all get that.
