it’s on a slow day when your curiosity finally gets the better of you. your cleaning had taken you close to the wall next to the cash register. it’s dotted with picture frames- celebrities, the boss’s brother, special occasions, the boss’s brother again. ever since you were hired not long ago, you’ve quickly learned to recognize who the regulars are. you’ve never seen anyone gulp down rice balls quite like miya atsumu does.

there’s one frame in particular that always catches your eye though, and you can’t count how many times your eyes have wandered to it. it’s not particularly eye-catching compared to the clientele that the wall boasts, but it’s unique in that it’s one of the few that wasn’t taken in the restaurant.

˚✶ * blueberry skies w/ kita

    bright rays of sunlight is partitioned by a tree’s wide branches, leaving a warmth on your face, barely blocking the sun from your eyes. your head rests backwards, pressing against kita’s lap, scalp tingling as his hand absentmindedly plays with your hair. he’s gentle with his hand, making sure not to tangle it with his touch. “you do know i have to go back to work soon,” he whispers.

  looking up at his eyes, you’re met with a somber look. “you wish, you’ve got most of your work done and i’m sure my dad will give you a longer break,” you grab a blueberry from the small basket he had gathered earlier, fruit finally growing from the bush you planted together.

  reaching your hand upwards, you hold out the blueberry as a peace offering, being met with his lips against your fingertips. chewing on the small berry, he frees his hand from your hair long enough to grab his own berry. he holds it above your head, a smile on his lips, “alright, you catch this and i’ll risk unemployment from your father.”

  “you know he wouldn’t-” 

  kita doesn’t give you much time to react as it falls from his fingers. tumbling through the air, it bounces against your nose, just barely falling into the corner of your open mouth. the tart flavor fills your mouth as you sit up victoriously, “now you have to spend time with me, as i know that’s so difficult for you.”

  rolling his eyes, he pulls at your hips, slowly enough to let you readjust comfortably against the grassy knoll. his hands remain at your hips, fingers laced through your belt loops. “being with you is never difficult, always remember that,” leaning forward, he kisses the corner of your mouth.

  “i was just joking-”

  “i know,” kita leans forward to kiss your lips, tasting the blueberry still lingering on your lips.
