Dear brain,

The past and future are illusions; a structure of time.

What matters is now, the present.

So stop thinking over and over again about what has happened and what will happen tomorrow.

Just sleep.

Neptunean

A dreaming girl and a woman so dreamy. This placement gives the capability for a woman to be elusive, witty and glamorous.

In the situation that this woman has more piscean placements this woman is not easily grasped, especially whilst in contact with the same generations. In truth a healthy man or woman is not in the need or want of such suffocation and control of her as a child and as a woman. As a child she eludes capture as the pretty bright fish that she is might do. She of painting with the brilliance of her colours as she swims in clean or filthy ponds no differently, her iridescent soul is safe.

These people are stunning artists and writers. And if they get into politics they may start movements.

Such thorough and deep in soul individuals that you don't hold them in the know, whether as family or friend or lover. You hold them in arms or in hearts knowing fully you can never define them. Horrorshow to want to.

As a warning I must warn you these people think and feel very unconsciously. So they are very absorbing of their environment. This means mantras, prayer, yoga or other habits associated with spirituality will help them deeply to aid and avoid mental health issues.

I Need My Feet to Forget

I need my feet to forget what motion feels like

Moving unnaturally fast

I need to stay rooted right now

I need time to think

My feet need to forget

What flying feels like

Because I keep nose diving

And maybe its just a part of learning

Maybe I have to suck first

It just seems like others don’t suck

And I'm the only one

Left behind in the dust

I cant stand up because

My feet refuse to forget

Silly feet,

Don’t you know that flying is unnatural?

Dear feet,

Please leave the job of flying

To the wings

Dear feet, you can run

I need my balance

I so should stick to the ground for now

I'm tired of being dizzy

And feeling bigger than I actually am

I'm tired of your illusion

I am the kind of person

That is dangerous

Once I know speed

So I need my feet to forget

What they now know

My feet need to forget the sky

And instead feel the grass, dirt, and tar

I'd love it if more people understood the difference between hallucinations and illusions. So let me try to explain with examples. [TW: examples of auditory hallucinations and illusions described as you experiencing them]

1. Imagine you are home alone with your windows closed and it's silent. And then you hear unfamiliar voices talking about you, it sounds like they are coming from another room. You go to check but no one is there. Your brain created entire voices of people out of thin air. This is a hallucination. There is nothing but your brain creates something.

2. Now imagine you are in the same scenario but your windows are open but the curtains are closed. You hear your neighbors having a conversation, and you hear it as them talking about what you are doing in that moment. They couldn't possibly see what you are doing, so realistically they can't be talking about you, but your brain makes you change the words and hear it that way. This is an illusion. There is something but your brain changes the real thing into something unreal.

It's not always easy to know the difference when you are experiencing it. But if you do know which one it is (nothing there and something unreal appears or something there changes to something unreal) then I think it can be really helpful to label the symptom accurately.

For me it was helpful to gage the effectiveness of my medication. I noticed that I have more illusions than hallucinations, and for me that was a sign of improvement. It can also go the other way, to see if your psychosis is getting more severe.

James Turrell

pacegallery.com
James Turrell has dedicated his practice to what he has deemed perceptual art, investigating the materiality of light.

influenced by the notion of pure feeling in pictorial art

constructing light and painting with light

building on the sensorial experience of space, color, and perception.

Turrell produced some of his first light sculptures, using gases to create flat flames that burned in even colors.

work with high-intensity projectors as a light source, producing the first of his Projection Pieces, Afrum-Proto.

These studies of perceptual anomalies further ignited his interest in the celestial realm, and he began to incorporate aviation into his practice by creating sky drawings with the artist Sam Francis.

Turrell’s practice has equally materialized in small-scale works, including architectural models, holograms, and works on paper.

A leading figure of the Light and Space movement, James Turrell creates colored light installations and holographs that produce awe-inspiring optical illusions: Turrell’s pieces can look like cubes, flat planes, pyramids, or tunnels, when they’re simply composed of light. The artist studied at the University of California, Irvine, before attending the art and technology program at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. There, he worked alongside fellow light artist Robert Irwin and honed his now-signature process and aesthetic. Turrell’s work has been shown in institutions around the world, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Guggenheim Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, and Museo Jumex, among others. Since the 1970s, Turrell has been working on a celestial light observatory at the Roden Crater in Arizona.
