JayJon shippers actually entertaining the idea that Nia might "influencing" Jon is hilarious. So desperate for your OTP to win that you want to scrap the really juicy drama going on right now in favor of something far less interesting (and in the current climate, actively harmful), while also ignoring the fact that the writer of Secret Six IS Dreamer, that she likes JonNia as a ship, and that she's been hyping up the messy love triangle drama for months.

the way y’all are so ready to call a trans woman manipulative and not read the bigger picture of her very few comics says a lot.
i think above is all i need to say but also my brain always makes me want to over explain myself so here’s a few points
1. jay is justified in his anger. i’m not coming at him or any characters in the comics. i’m talking about readers here
2. have none of y’all read dream team? do you need to reread it? cuz y’all out here calling her a master manipulator makes me think you haven’t.
3. nia can be messy. she doesn’t have to be a saint, and i’m all for that. but if you think she’s actively and intentionally manipulating the only 2 friends she has in comics, who she adores, y’all are wrong.
4. secret six starts with nia having a vision of jay killing her, and she’s literally putting him in a position where he could (putting the preverbal gun in his hands). and y’all are out here believing everything jay says about her is true? that she’s selfish and a manipulator?
5. if we really want to explore nia let’s do it. let’s fucking dive into it. nia is someone who at the beginning of her time is a bubbly, justice driven person. a black and white justice driven person. her nativity and this sense of justice lead her to easily be taken advantage of by waller. who then implanted a bomb inside of her head and told her that if she didn’t do exactly what waller said, waller would do objectively horrible things to nia’s hometown of aliens. nia is forced to kill a man for the first time by waller, surrounded by villains who don’t bat an eye at it. she’s forced to deal with that on her own.
nia has spiraled into a depressive and dark state of mind. not dark as in evil, dark as in she’s living through trauma with no one supporting her. she’s beginning to see herself as how jay describes her in secret six #2. that’s why she doesn’t correct him. because she’s fucking severely depressed from all she’s been through. she’s been forced to do things she doesn’t agree with for the sake of trying to save her town. which MIND YOU a town that was canonically transphobic towards her but she still recognized their right to live in peace without violence.
and some of y’all seem to have forgotten that she was forced to do all this shit. that maybe she hasn’t talked about it with jon and jay because she’s traumatized and thinks she’s a horrible person, which jay is just confirming in her head. (again - he has every right to be mad. do not come for me)
but y’all are out here more worried about your ship (which i really can’t see DC doing away with given it’s their BIG gay ship and a staple in their comics now. even if they do, it’ll be temporary and they’ll go back to jonjay) and not bothering to actually take a step back and read the whole thing.
