I like to watch bad low-budget movies, and I found the film monsters (1993) (Russian). They use live action footage of small animals as the "monsters". As a rat owner, I find it hilarious how they try to make the rats look threatening. (No animals were actually harmed in filming)

What's tomorrow!? Groundhog Day is Thursday. Will Phil see his shadow? It's that time of year again when meteorologists step aside to let a furry rodent make its famed weather forecast. Punxsutawney Phil, the world's celebrity groundhog, will be coaxed from his burrow in western Pennsylvania early Thursday as an anxious nation watches to find out whether we'll have an early spring or six more miserable weeks of cold and snow. According to legend, if it's sunny and Phil sees his shadow, the scared groundhog returns to his burrow and the U.S. will endure six more weeks of winter. But if it's cloudy when the groundhog emerges on Feb. 2, the critter won't see his shadow and will leave his burrow, meaning winter will soon end and an early start to spring is coming. Though it's hard to say when exactly and whether they will look like that popular post with pastel rodents. I really struggle with keeping a consitent art style, it feels like for every drawing another style would be more convenient ^^'

But I do love smol pink-nosed babies and you can for sure expect more of the ratty goodness, in this style or another :3

Finished a reference sheet for this guy finally, landing on a design I was happy with took me way longer than I expected, and I still dont have a name for him but here he is.

Still plenty of things I already want to adjust but the important thing is I like the overall vibe. Most urgent thing is choosing a colour that isnt black for the palm tree on his shirt so he doesnt mess up the lineart but at that point I just wanted to get this done and uploaded lol

These are the earliest drawings of trying to work out this little guy and honestly I hate them a lot and think they are some of the worst character drawings ive ever done but wanted to post them here anyway just to show some of the process I guess
