I keep getting random tts ideas in my head-💀

This is for a weird-ass story that I came up with in my head where a 18-year-old Varian is experimenting in his lab during a dark stormy night and then he gets up to go get sm. But his experiment is fucked up by some dark entity or some shit so when Varian gets back and puts something else in, he goes unconscious and travels to a fucked up version of Corona...and gets traumatized. A lot. You'll know what happened once you read below the cut. It's like the story Eugene told but majorly fucked up.

‘Millennia ago, a drop of Sun and Moon fell from the Heavens and descended to the corners of the globe; two elements longing to reunite…’

‘The Sundrop ended up in the hands of the king and queen of Corona, and the Moonstone ended up in the hands of the Dark Kingdom.’

‘The Sundrop was used to heal Corona's queen, who was pregnant, and very ill. But the power of the Sundrop itself was infused with the queen's unborn daughter, Rapunzel. So when she was born, she was born with beautiful, golden hair, along with the powers of the Sundrop. The king and queen celebrated their daughter's birth by sending floating lanterns into the sky. But alas, this happiness wouldn't last forever.’

‘One night, someone broke into the baby's tower and took her. The person was Mother Gothel, who desperately wanted her Sundrop flower back. When she realized that the Sundrop's healing powers had infused with Rapunzel, she took the baby and fled. The guards were alerted and wasted no time chasing after Gothel, but she was too fast, too agile. It almost looked like she was going to escape with the baby. Almost. Fortunately, the guards that were chasing her caught up to her and arrested her in front of her biological daughter, Cassandra. As a result, the Captain of the Royal Guard took Cassandra in as his own daughter, and Rapunzel was returned to her parents.’

‘But as Rapunzel grew older, her parents were more protective of her than ever due to her nearly getting kidnapped as a baby. They realized that they had to keep the power of the Sundrop protected and away from the wrong hands at ALL COSTS. But then, the black rocks came to the kingdom. The rocks destroyed infrastructure, terrified their subjects, and ultimately caused misery. The king and queen knew they had to do something, but they didn't know what, so they stayed put. But one day, while their daughter was out with the guards, she touched one of the rocks. The rock blew up, creating a massive crater in the town center, and rendering their daughter unconscious. That's when the king and queen knew they had to act. If these rocks were a danger to their daughter, then they would have to go.’

‘The king tracked the rocks to see if he could discern a pattern based on their locations. He soon realized that the rocks were forming a path that led somewhere. That somewhere, the king and queen realized, was the source of where the black rocks had come from. The source of all their misery. The source of their daughter's suffering. The king sent out a small scouting group to follow the black rocks to the source, and they found a kingdom- the Dark Kingdom. The king wasted no time in organizing an invasion of said kingdom. Before you know it, the king, his son, and his guards are taken prisoner, their people scattered across the land, and the Moonstone, discovered within the very heart of the palace in the Dark Kingdom, is sealed up in a chamber deep below Corona by the orders of the king. This leads us to today, a supposedly peaceful kingdom with no black rocks around, but in reality, it is a tyrant to its subjects and its prisoners who did nothing wrong…’

I actually really liked how the writers made sure to make it known that the two really and deeply love each other, its not something i see within other shows a lot!

keep forgetting how much i love season 1 and 2 cass. like, she had her toxic moments, but that was okay because i believed she’d get character development. plus, she had those sweet moments like helping eugene even though she didn’t like him, and when she basically just wanted to spend time with rapunzel. i usually picture season 3 cass when i think of her, but i need to remember how great she was in the first two.

(please do not reblog/comment with discourse. also, this is not intended to be a critique of moon cass and does not need any defensive words to change my mind about her arc.)

why did i subject myself to this. i’m still gonna do it, though. (these aren’t fully dedicated to any one character, so y’all can still ask about them! just thinking of the overall shows)

-varian got down on one knee to propose to hugo. hugo laughed and said “ha, you’re even shorter now.” there was a moment of absolute silence before hugo realized what was going on. varian started to stand up. hugo frantically begged him to wait and start over.

-cassandra and eugene occasionally called off their rivalry for cass to teach eugene to play chess. cass had realized he didn’t know how (orphan, poor, thief) and said that a future king obviously had to learn. cue surprisingly cute, very gruff training.

-varian is terrified of maximus. maximus can smell the criminal on him. varian has had to hide in a tree from that horse several times.

-there was a point in hugo’s life, after vat7k, where it finally dawned on him that he was safe and happy. varian held him as he cried with too many emotions he couldn’t describe.

-hugo absolutely despises frederic and arianna. he performs elaborate, heist-like pranks on them for varian’s sake. they don’t know it’s him. they’re losing their minds.

-for a long time after his redemption, varian didn’t see anything wrong in his relationship with andrew. he just thought “well, he’s standing in for my dad.” and then he did consciously realize “he’s evil”, but he didn’t actually unpack everything that went on. i don’t think andrew did anything to him, but i think he was extremely creepy, and there’s still something so horrible about a man in a confined space with a boy who was 13 only a year ago.

-upon the separatists of saporia breaking out, andrew made sure to keep varian busy in the castle so he didn’t realize that the citizens of corona were enslaved.

-varian’s truth cookies made pete and stan confess their love.

-nuru is afraid of ruddiger at first (not a lot of wildlife in a meteor-ravaged kingdom). she finally gets over that fear just in time for varian to have to turn ruddiger into beast-ruddiger for some reason. nuru is even more emotionally scarred.

-“plus est en vous” goes differently in my mind. in my ideal reality. in my headcanon. i don’t know exactly what happened, but i do know varian, lance, and eugene play MUCH bigger roles.

-hugo is an emotional drunk. varian is a stupid drunk (while inebriated, he once invented a ship, which had already been invented at the time. ((by “ship”, i mean boat.))) rapunzel is also an emotional drunk. cass is the death-wish kind of drunk that would deliberately try to get run over by a carriage. eugene can keep an objective in mind when he drinks, like getting information out of somebody, but he will also get distracted by a really pretty swirl of wood on the table. lance is a philosophical drunk.

-the whole team, from both shows, hums their big songs to themselves when they’re bored. those things may spring out of their innermost psyches and display themselves in fits of passion, but damn if they aren’t catchy.

-angry once won an arm-wrestling match against lance. no one knows how it happened. lance swears she hypnotized him.

-eugene lets rapunzel paint on him, and she comes to him for fashion advice.

THAT’S ALL I CAN THINK OF RIGHT NOW AND THEY AREN’T EVEN CHARACTER-SPECIFIC SO OH BOY I GUESS I HAVE MORE

just for clarification:

disliking parts of the way rapunzel’s character was handled in the show =/= disliking her.

movie!rapunzel means a lot to me personally, and i absolutely adore some aspects of her character in the show. i think she’s loving, creative, funny, intelligent, and she tries her best to help the people around her.

if i have a critique with her in the show, it’s because i believe that isn’t how she’d behave as someone who went through the events of the movie. or maybe i look at how she acts for one episode of the show, compare it to the foundation they’ve established in an earlier episode, and find that they contrast one another. my criticisms are for the inconsistent or out-of-character writing, not for rapunzel herself. i understand she has flaws; i just wish they were addressed properly and that she didn’t always have to be in the right.

rapunzel. rapunzel, i feel you. i understand that you’re lashing out because of demon magic and stress.

however.

you are talking to the man who chose to die for you.

i think he understands what a tough choice is.

choosing to believe that rapunzel didn’t check on varian because she got hit by the Bad Writing Curse that left her suspended translucently in the air for the three to five months that passed. she was just ghostly and floating in a comatose state with the words BAD WRITING CURSE printed in times new roman font down the length of her body. and then the three to five months were up and she was suddenly rejuvenated. and nobody else checked on him because they were all so worried about her. and then varian learns of the curse and asks “is that what made me make the ‘sweep you off your feet’ joke?” and everybody says some variation of “no, that was just you being a cringey teenager.” and he goes “dang it” and kicks one of his prison bars.

I made a fanart based on a story on archives of our own. It's an AU where Varian and Rapunzel are brother and sister. The name of the story is "darkness exists to make light truly count" and it's written by AquaQuadrant.

Why can't you see what I really are ? (Varian)

It's my first story in English. I know there are a lot of mistakes. I sorry for this. Please tell me when you see one, I will correct it immediately. Good reading.

Resume: A.u. where Varian success in liberating his father. But the reaction of Quirin is not what he had expected.

The hairs of the princess were shining in the dark of the laboratory. Her screaming filled the room, while the machine of Varian was drilling the Amber.

" What ?! Why ?! " Yelled Varian. The Amber no seem to be even cracked. The young alchemist tried again. Stronger.

The princess collapsed to the ground.

" Stop it ! She can't take anymore ! " Yelled the king.

" Rapunzel ! " Exclaimed the queen.

But Varian wasn't listening. He wanted to break this rocks. He will.

" I can do it ! I wasn't wrong ! I wasn't wrong ! " He yelled for himself. He closes his eyes and pushed harder against the Amber.

A flash.

No sound, no movement. Juste a horrible silence and a lot of smoke.

" Rapunzel ! Are you okay ? " The queen screamed.

" Mom ? What happened ? How can you be free ? " Rapunzel said when she woke up.

" Pascal brought me the antidote. " She taked her daughter in her arms. " Varan's machine broke up. I saw your father, he's fine, he's looking for help outside. "

" And Varian ?! What happened to him ?! " Rapunzel asked.

" I don't know. The smoke and steam are too big per see anything. " She said.

They sudently heared a sound. Like a little crying.

" Dad ... Dad ! " Varian was screaming. This voice was full of happiness. " I did it ! I did it ! "

One only thing can make the young alchemist screaming as that.

" Quirin must be free. " Whispered the queen Ariana. " It's incredible... He broke the Amber. "

Rapunzel standed up and ran to see a wonderful show: Varian's father was free, for real.

But the expression on his face wasn't what she had waiting for. He looked angry.

" Dad ! Daddy ! " Varian yelled. " I'm so happy ! " Tears were falling on his face. " Make I you proud of me ? " He finally whispered.

" Variana.... What.Is.Happening.Here ?! "

" I-I... I am saving you... from the rocks.... " Varian answered.

" Wrong ! You're just doing what you HAVE to do ! " He yelled, furious. " Did you forgot that is YOU who stuck up me in this thing in the first place ?! "

Tears flowed in abundance on the kid's cheeks. " I-I'm sorry father... I'm so sorry. " He stammered. " I was j-just trying to b-break the black r-rocks.... I-I don't w-wanted to... "

" Shut up you freak ! " Le old man screamed.

" Y-yes sir... " Varian stopped to talk imediately.

Rapunzel wasn't believe her hears. She never talk with Quirin but seeing with witch hardeur Varian tried to help him, she believed he were a good father. Apparently no. And ... Why he called him 'Variana' ?

" Quirin ? How are you ? I'm so glad you're free ! " Rapunzel yelled, trying to understand the situation.

" Princess ! " Quirin knelt down as a mark of respect. " I sorry for what my daughter did when I wasn't here. "

Rapunzel gasped. " You're daughter ? What do you mean ? " She looked at the alchemist. " Varian are you ...? "

" No ! I-i... I'm sorry... I.... " He cried.

" Variana did you said everyone that you were a boy again ?! What wrong with you ?! "

" B-but... I am a b-boy.... " He wispered slowly.

" What did you say you monster !? "

" N-nothing sir... " Varian answered.

" That's better. " He caught Varian's arms " Now you come with me. We have a lots of things to talk about. "

At this moment, the queen arrived. She looked Quirin, Varian and finally Rapunzel. She obviously heard the conversation.

" Quirin ! Goodness you're alive ! I thought you were dead. " She smiled at him. " Thanks God Varian was able to break the stones. " She looked Rapunzel, a way to say to her: 'I will try to understand what is happening with him. You, take care of the child. '

Rapunzel smiled, a way to say 'yes'.

" Quirin, you must sit down, there's a lots of things happened when to were stuck in the rocks. "

" Of course your majesty. " He answered and took a sit.

" Well... " She begins to take about everything and nothing, a perfect opportunity for Rapunzel to talk to Varian.

She approached him quietly. He was crying. Sat on the ground.

" Varian ? Are you... Okay ? " She tried.

" Let me alone ! " He tried to tell but his voice was too much broken to talk.

" Please Varian, I just want to help you. "

" It's too late princess ! " He yelled, pathetically " Now I have my father, I don't need you anymore. " He looked at her, and his look was full of angrier and... Fear.

" I swear you Varian... I know something wrong with your father. Is he always as that ? "

Varian didn't answered, he just cried more, hiding his head in his knees.

" Please, we don't have a lot of time. " She cried.

" I... I thought... If I did something incredible, he were proud of me.... But I was wrong. " He looked at Rapunzel with a look full of fear. " I thought he could see what I really are... But he don't even know me... He thinks I'm a girl, no matter how much time I say I'm a boy. " He cried. " I'm so sorry princess... I so s-sorry... Please ... L-let m-me alone ... "

" Varian, if you come with me, I promise, I'll forgotten all bad things you did... Just, let me help you... " She showed him her hand.

The little boy looked at the hand, hesitating. Finally he took her and stood up.

" Princess... I-i'm so sorry... " He cried.

" It's fine... Now come with me... Quietly. "

" Y-yes... " He answered.

Varian smiled a bit. Maybe he was wrong. Maybe capture the queen and steal the flower wasn't good ideas. Maybe Rapunzel will save him. Well he hopes so.

Maybe everything gonna be alright.
