Ok I already know that teen wolf is already getting a spin off (even though I don't think it will fair better than the original) but (and I might be imagining this) Ian bohen put a tweet up saying there should be a hale spin off and like omg would I be so down for that! Derek Hale Appreciation Week 2021 Day 6:
Saturday Nov 27 - Post-Canon // Happiness
(Will write full fic for this eventually)
I stroll to the door to the vet clinic, hating that I have to go here, but this is really the only place I can go for this. I hear Stiles’s hummingbird heartbeat and get extra uncomfortable with the situation. What could he be doing here?
I hear Stiles say “Doc, I don’t know what to tell you, I just need to study as much of your books for this. I don’t know what the witches plan for him. I just know I have less than six hours to figure it out or he’s as good as dead.”
Deaton says “Mr. Stilinski, I would really prefer you to give me more information than that. Where did you see Scott last? Where did the witches take him?”
Stiles sighs and says “The Nemeton, now can I get back to work?”
Deaton sighs and says “Alright, Mr. Stilinski.”
I walk into the vet clinic and say “Hey, Deaton. There is a problem that I need your help with. So if you could come open the barrier that would be ideal.”
Deaton walks out of the back room and sees all the baby betas I have in my arms and on my back and it’s the first time I’ve ever truly seen him lose his composure. His eyes go comically huge and he falters in his step. His heart starts beating wildly and smells of fear and regret.
Deaton says “Mr. Stilinski, you might want to change what you’re looking into.”
Stiles runs out of the room and says “Oh shit. I guess I should. Hey Derek and Puppies. Where did you find them, Derek?”
I sigh and say “The Nemeton. And that’s not the only thing. I’m an Alpha again.”
Deaton flinches and says “Mr. Stilinski, you don’t need to worry about finding Scott anymore. He’s gone and there is nothing you can do.”
Stiles says “How do you know that from the fact that Derek is Alpha again? You did not, did you? I knew that True Alpha shit was nonsense. I can’t believe you. What the hell gave you the right to do that? And if you say balance I will absolutely lose my shit.”
I stare at Stiles and say “What are you talking about, Stiles?”
Stiles glares at Deaton and says “Deaton gave Scott your spark, I knew he couldn’t have become a True Alpha if it did exist. He never did accept his wolf. So there was no way he’d have gotten the upgrade.”
Deaton looks down and says “It wasn’t like that. I was desperate and Scott seemed like the best option. Once it became clear it wasn’t the case it was too late for me to do anything about it.”
Stiles shakes his head and says “There are so many things wrong with what you just said, but I don’t have the time to break it down for you. Come on, Der. I’ll let you and the puppies in.”
Stiles opens the barrier without issue and Deaton looks shocked at that. Stiles just smirks and waves me to follow him. I can’t help but feel I’m missing many things and Stiles has the answers to at least most of what is going on.
I follow Stiles into Deaton’s magic room and say “What do you already know, Stiles?”
Stiles tenses and says “Why do you think I know anything right now?”
I sigh and say “You were lying to Deaton earlier. So what really happened? What happened at the Nemeton, Stiles?”
Stiles deflates and says “Scott and I went to the Nemeton because I felt something pulling me there. The Nemeton spoke to me and it was so bad, Derek. Do you know the damage Scott has truly caused? Because I do now and it hurts. Knowing I helped him cause all of the pain and destruction he has.”
I flinch and say “Stiles, tell me what happened.”
He runs a hand through his hair and says “I fed him to the Nemeton to atone for my part in everything. The Nemeton told me that it would help right some of the wrongs. When I left the Peppies weren’t puppies yet. They were adults. Clearly something happened after I ran away.”
I growl softly and say “You left them alone, Stiles. What the hell? Some of them were just brought back from the dead and you left them alone?”
He sighs and says “I felt you were coming and I couldn’t bring myself to face you yet. So I left and decided to do as much research as I could convince Deaton to let me do with his library. I panicked and I regret leaving them alone, especially since something happened in between me leaving and you getting there.”
I growl and say “Do you know who all of them are? I’m unsure about a few of them.”
He frowns and says “Deucalion, Ethan, Aiden, Boyd, Erica, Issac, Jackson, Peter, Cora and Malia.”
I sigh and say “Why are Peter, Cora, Malia and Deucalion in the group? That doesn’t make sense.”
He sighs and says “It makes more sense than you realize. But I will explain later. I have a lot of research to do. I will help you take care of them until I can get them back to adults. It’s a good thing I did something behind your back over the years since having them in town too often would raise too many questions.”
I frown and say “What do you mean, Stiles?”
He tenses and says “I had your house rebuilt in the preserve. It’s in your name and everything. I found your plans and put them into action. It’s hidden under a ward for now. I was going to surprise you with it, but I never really got the chance.”
I stare at him and say “Why would you do that?”
He shakes his head and says “It doesn’t matter why. I did it and it’s a good thing I did. We’re going to have to probably go to Ikea to get furniture for the Puppies and stuff though.”
I frown and say “Stiles, why are you so willing to help me? Why did you get my house rebuilt? How did you get it rebuilt?”
He frowns and says “It does not matter, Derek. I care, okay? That’s all.”
I sigh and say “Okay, Stiles. I’ll leave it alone for now. But only because we have more important things to worry about.”
He growls surprisingly wolflike and says “We’re not going to talk about it at all. My reasons are my own and I will not share them. You’re not the first to ask and you won’t be the first I give into. Everyone that helped with the house asked the same question and I never answered. I’d like to keep that streak up personally.”
I sigh and say “Fine. Whatever you want. Thank you I guess.”
He nods and gets to work researching. I study him and wonder why he’s doing any of this. Especially since I know he is the one who made sure to go and make sure Kate was dead for real this time. I don’t understand why he’s always willing to take these insane risks when I’m involved. It’s worse with me than it ever was with Scott, Lydia or even his dad. I mean he risked his future with the FBI for me. I don’t understand. Why does he do any of it? He had my childhood home rebuilt to my specifications if he is telling the truth. I don’t even know when he would have had the time to set it up. I can’t fathom that Scott would have been okay with it. Though clearly that’s not as important to him as I thought it always would be. I can’t believe he sacrificed Scott to the Nemeton, bringing my betas back and others along with them. He said he cared, but that’s still a lot of trouble to go to for someone you only slightly care about. I don’t understand and contemplating it is only making it harder to understand. I hope one day he decides on his own to tell me. Because I’m not going to be able to convince him to tell me or figure it out on my own. Slowly the deaged betas are all waking up, causing me to be distracted from my thoughts. I slowly set each of them on the ground and try to keep an eye on them all while also being aware of Stiles. Most of them pile together, but Erica starts growling and wolfing out, which is both precious and terrifying. I’m unsure what to do. Stiles pointedly clears his throat and Erica calms nearly instantly. I gape at Stiles, unsure how he was able to do that so easily and while rather distracted. Peter is climbing up Stiles’ pant leg and Stiles doesn’t even look up from what he is doing to scoop Peter up and settle him on his hip. I never expected something like that to be beautiful, especially when it comes to Stiles, but it takes my breath away. Stiles smirks slightly and I’m unsure if it’s about me or whatever he is reading. I sigh when I notice Issac is staring up at me, I scoop him up and set him on my hip. Stiles' smile softens and I’m not going to lie, I preen slightly. He softly chuckles and I smile softly at him. Most of the betas are back asleep in the pile minus our two clingers. This is going to be interesting, but I’m kind of looking forward to it. Stiles always knows how to make things interesting and admittedly fun as well.

I’m totally not obsessing over any of the characters
Like Laura hale who haunts the narrative. Hell she’s was the creation of the narrative, her death is the reason that Scott and stiles were in the woods that night. She was a means to an end. She was an older sister. The girl who stays with her brother even after her death. We know nothing about her, and everything we do know is forever tainted by the biases of the characters that remained. The Aphla Heir, the first victim of the show. A body in the woods, a girl in a grave
Or Peter hale, who is a walking contradiction and Manipulator. He cares for his family but he sacrificed Laura and Derek (Paige) for power. He kills his niece, then later on he wants to save her (Cora). Peter who died in the house fire, all Derek was doing was putting down a corpse. Peter who died engulfed in flames in the house haunted by death and fire. Peter who knew how to bring himself back, who knew about necromancy and banshees. How young was he when he created a plan to bring himself back to life?
How about Cora?? A girl who lived in the shadow of her families death for years. Believing that she was the only one who lived. A girl who only knows how to run, who keeps her bags packed always ready to leave. It’s how she grew up. Cora who returned to her burnt out shell of a home at the mere mention of a hale alpha. Who leaves beacon hills once again but this time with her brother at her back. (Laura and Derek leaving after the fire parallel)
And last but not least, Derek fucking Hale. The man who blamed himself for the death of his entire family. Who lost everything, and despite that, got up every single day. Who never got to bury his family members, but never wanted to bury Laura. Who killed his uncle and buried him in the grave of their house, so he could rest among the rest of forgotten Hales. What’s one more grave to dig, One more family member to bury. Who helped people even when they didn’t want him to. Derek who was used and abused over and over again. Who was nothing more than a body. Someone with one foot in the grave and one on a train. He just wanted a pack again and had that taken from him as well. He leaves beacon hills, and comes back to once again help those in need. Who dies and comes back. Who drags himself with bloody fingers to a happy ending, with a son. Who takes care of a car for fifteen years as an act of repentance and love. And who still dies in a fire like the Hales that came before him.
What about Eli, whose legacy is pain, fire and death.
The hales who are tied so fucking tightly to beacon hills and to each other. They can never leave this place but they can’t stay. Nothing will ever be the same again. The fire is gone but the wood is still charred. There’s still an open grave

At the Hale mansion after rebuilding, a family afternoon. Peter, Malia, Cora, Derek and Jackson created this little time for only them. Helping everyone to know each other better as Hales. They talked about a lot of things then one day Stiles was the subject.
Derek: Malia are you really sure you don’t mind being around me and Stiles?
Malia: Really Derek it’s fine! Somewhere I knew that I wasn’t the one for Stiles. Our couple was more because we needed someone to be with us at the time! To help us get better. To anchor us. And you both look so happy! And really, you see Stiles!! How anybody can not find him attractive go over my head!
Derek smiled: Yeah! You too?! He is kind, he care about other people, he try to protect everyone and he is so damn pretty!
Peter nodded: and don’t get me started on his brain and sassy mouth! This boy is absolutely tempting !!
Cora smiled : And his smell! You know how cats react to catnip?! I feel exactly like that! Aren’t you?!
The whole Hales where nodding not counting on Jackson to have an input in this conversation. It was well known that the four Hales where strangely attracted to Stiles, but he only had eyes for Derek and they all knew how to respect boundaries even Peter. But suddenly
Jackson not really aware of what he say: And really he is so funny and courageous. I had always liked that since we were kids! And his hugs are the best …I miss that!
They all turned slowly there head toward him, eyebrows rised.
Jackson: WHAT?! We were bestfriend once! Not my fault if McCall had stole him from me!!
Derek started to laugh and everyone followed .

So I have this recurent thought about the Hales origins lately :
It’s says that the Hales had founded Beacon Hills a few century prior the start of the show. And in the fandom, because of the « young Derek meet Scott’s father » incident, Derek is either depicted as an all-white american , or a mexican descendant.
BUT in my strange brain I have two ideas that collide and I can’t choose which one seems the best to connect with the show:
First: the Hales are indeed Spanish descent not mexican, their ancestors came from the old continent just like the Argent just not the same country (or actually maybe they are just french-spanish you know ) and they just happened to found the town as they arrived in America.
Second: the Hales are actually Native American descent, they are an old family, Beacon Hills was part of their original lands. They had certainly been mixed with colonist, and became this wealthy family that had found the town.
And I don’t know what would be the more accurate actually, don’t hesitate to answer with your opinion !
(I quite like the second one actually…it would made sense, especially with the Hales different phenotypes)

I was thinking about what kind of relationship would have had Peter with Derek’s father in his younger days. I Imagined Peter trying to humiliate Derek’s father because he knows that he’s a better wolf than him and he’s jealous.
I imagine that Derek’s father had tolerated Peter’s attitude towards him, as best as he could, but deep inside, he knew the true nature of Peter. But it’s only mi opinion.

Ok so I saw a bunch of monkeyelbow’s Hale Family fanart/comics many years ago, and I have to say that they heavily inspired my recently posted head canon about Derek Hale’s father. Give my head canon a read if you are interested:
My vision of Derek Hale’s parents when they’re more younger. In my version, Derek’s father was at first a human but due his relationship with Talia and his affair with that mystic world, she was forced to bite and convert him into a werewolf. I like to imagine him like Scott but a bit cocky and mulish but with good intentions.
I read a fic where Derek Hale’s father’s name was Xavier Hale, and he accepted the bite from Talia. It stuck with me, so this is now my headcanon: Derek Hale’s father’s name is Xavier Hale. Xavier was born human, but when he fell in love and mated with Talia Hale, he chose to receive the bite and become her beta and Alpha mate. Once bitten and mated, he took Talia’s last name. After becoming a wolf, he loved to chase Talia and throw her over his shoulder and run around with her on his shoulder even though she was the Alpha, and technically that should go against her every instinct as an Alpha, but she loved it and she loved him, so she let him. Peter didn’t like that Xavier, very quickly, became an exceptional wolf and mastered control over it. He believed a bitten wolf could never master full control over their wolf like a born wolf could. For years they had one sided beef. Mostly with Peter being an asshole and believing his sister could’ve done better. He loved to remind Xavier that he wouldn’t ever be a true wolf and Talia deserved a real wolf. Xavier’s personality was very similar to Scott’s, a bit arrogant and cocky at times, kind of dumb, a absolute puppy, always had good intentions, loyal, a true lover boy and had a heart of gold. (This was part of the reason why Peter chose to bite Scott, because something about him was so familiar and nostalgic, he wanted him in his pack) Xavier ends up saving Peter from a rogue feral omega at some point and Peter finally realizes the flaw of his beliefs. After that, Xavier becomes the older brother Peter has always wanted (Peter is second born after Talia, who is the oldest, they have 7 other siblings). Derek is the splitting image of Xavier Hale. The only difference between them is that Xavier has longer, shaggier hair, which he will sometimes tie into a man bun, he’s also more muscular, mostly due to age though. (Laura looks more like Talia, and Cora a perfect combo of both Talia and Xavier) He absolutely adored his children and doted on them. Laura and Cora used to love to play with his hair and practice braiding it. So sometimes he’ll walk around proudly with random braids, hair ties, bows and clips in his hair lol. He would get down on his hands and knees and let Derek ride on his back and let him grab onto his hair and pretend they were reigns as he galloped around with him on his back, Derek would squeal and laugh all through the house. (Sorry I’m about to make this tragically depressing but it wouldn’t be a Hale story if it wasn’t angsty) Sadly, Xavier Hale was killed in a calculated attack by an invading pack trying to take over the Hale territory in Beacon Hills. The Hale pack completely tore them apart, and Talia went after the Alpha that killed her mate and tore their throat out with her teeth. Derek was 11 years old, Laura 15, and Cora 6 when their father was killed. The loss was unbearable, and Talia came close to loosing herself, but ultimately chose to stay strong and keep her head up for her children and her pack because they needed her…… 5 years later, the fire happened. After the fire, Derek found it harder to look in the mirror than after his father died, because he swore he could see the disappoint in his father’s eyes through his own reflection. Looking at his reflection was just a painful reminder of all that he lost. He also found it hard to look Laura in the eyes, who is now the new Alpha, because she looked and acted so much like Talia, especially when in Alpha mode. When things felt especially tough, Derek would lay his head on Laura’s lap and she would play with his hair to comfort both him and herself. Even though Derek’s hair was shorter, she would try to braid his hair the best she could even if Derek’s hair looked like a complete mess after, it was comforting, and he loved her so he let her. After Laura is killed by Peter, Derek literally refused to look at his own reflection for a while. Years later, after he finds out Cora is alive, he would sometimes lay his head in her lap while she played with his hair.

Young Mischief followed the big kid with silent tears streaming down his cheeks. He was having a not good day today. First, his mommy left him all alone in this new school, then there was this kid who wanted to be his friend until he realized that Mischief wasn't going to respond to him like everyone else who thinks he's the 'coolest kid in the whole school', and THEN he dropped his super special sandwich (It was shaped like the Bat symbol!!) on the ground!!
Later, his mommy is late picking him up, but when this big kid came to pick his sister up, he said that Mischief was going home with them for the day, so now he has to ride with Creepy Cora. He doesn't know why the other kids call her creepy though, sure she's tougher than the other kids and not scared of the dark or anything, but that doesn't mean she's creepy, if anything, it means— Thwack!! A soft noise escapes as Mischief rubs the side of his face. He forgot to watch where he was going, but now that he's paying attention, he peers around to see Cora, her big brother, and an even bigger kid all staring at him.
He blinks back a couple times, then finally notices the books!! There's got to be at least 100 of them!! Cora's brother, who is apparently named Derek, starts to tell the bigger kid that Mischief is supposed to ride with them today, who just makes the same sound that his dad makes when he's left his toys all over the floor or spilled the juice from the carton. Derek and Cora roll their eyes at the same time, then get sent off to 'get Laura and put their shit in the car', which leaves Mischief alone with the bigger kid.
They stare each other down for a few moments, before the older boy speaks, "You must be Mieczysław."
Mischief nods his head. "Do you know why you're coming with us today?" A shake of the head gets an annoyed mutter about parents being dumb before the older kid sighs, "Well, you're staying with us for the day because your mother has an appointment, the sheriff is working all night and neither of them could get another babysitter, so they called my sister."
The younger boy, face falling briefly at the news his dad is working all night again, nods along.
"But since my niblings didn't introduce us, I'm Peter," Mischief gives a little wave at that, then a shrug when asked, "You don't talk much, do you?"
Peter watches him with a calculated look, "I'm not going to ask what I assume everyone does, so instead my question is this: Do you like to read?"
Peter nearly caught off guard when the younger boy nods so vigorously, it almost seemed his head would fall off.
The teen opens his mouth to say something else, when Derek reappears and says that Laura said to 'get their asses in the car before she tells Mom about Peter's secret stash!!' at which the teen boy lets out a growl and begins to drag the younger boys out to a sleek black car.

Claudia Stilinski parks her slightly dinged up blue jeep in the long driveway of the Hale house, heading to the front door once she climbs out of her seat.
The door opens seemingly before she even knocks, but she pays no mind to it once she notices what's going on in the front room. There are several kids scattered about doing various activities like homework and playing with toys, but what draws her attention is her precious Mieczysław seated on one of the sofas next to Talia Hale's young brother, Peter. The 15 year old is rocking a baby(Must be Talia and Michael's youngest) to sleep while looking at a book with her son and patiently explaining things to him.
A sudden yell near her left followed by a screech and high pitched giggles makes her turn just in time to avoid two other kids(One the same age as her boy, the other a few years older) as they chase each other out the door and into the yard.
"Mrs. Stilinski, I presume?" And there's Talia, coming down the stairs.
"Oh, yes, I'm here to pick up my little Mischief. I hope he hasn't been too much to handle."
The Hale matriarch waves away her concern with a flash of lavender colored nails, "No worries, he was an angel!! Between you and me, Peter has actually gotten quite attached to your son, none of my kids who are old enough to read really share the same interests as he and the rest are too young, so the two of them have gone through almost half the books in the living room alone!!" "Yea, that's my Mischief. He'll read anything he can get his hands on, even if he doesn't always understand what it's about."
Both women turn to watch their sons for a moment before Talia calls out to them, letting Mieczysław know his mother is here.
There's a rush to gather his school stuff and a flurry of body parts as all the kids decide they want to wish them goodbye, but before the Stilinskis are in the Jeep and about to leave, Peter pops up at window offers to watch Mischief again whenever they need a sitter, citing experience from watching over his many niblings.
Claudia turns to the back seat where Mischief is strapped in, "Well, what do you think? Would you like Peter to come watch you sometime?"
Mischief glances from his mother to Peter, who's trying to hide the hopeful look on his face, then opens his mouth and says, "Wes, I want Pether to come read wit' me all da time!! Foreder!!"
Peter grins and runs back inside once Claudia gives him confirmation that she'd call with more details tomorrow, a slightly stunned look on her face as she pulls out of the driveway.

Later that night, after Mieczysław has been put to bed, Claudia calls the sheriff's station to speak with Deputy Noah Stilinski.
"Dia, everything alright? How'd the doctor's appointment go?"
Pulling her legs up underneath her on the sofa, Claudia smiles at her husband's constant worrying, "Everything seems to be fine, Love, they said it's safe to try again in a few weeks, but Noah, I have to tell you something about Mischief."
Across town at the sheriff's station, Noah Stilinski is relieved to hear that his wife's appointment went well, but this news about his son is starting to worry him the longer Claudia holds back, "Dia, just tell me, what did he do this time?,.."
"No, nothing bad happened and he seems to have gotten really attached to Peter Hale, Talia's younger brother, but Honey,.. as we were leaving, Peter stopped us and offered to watch Mischief whenever we needed and then he- Noah, he spoke!! Our little Mischief spoke!!"
The deputy almost dropped his phone when he heard that, "D-did I hear that right?! Did you just say that our son, our son who has never spoken once, has finally said something and it was to a freaking Hale?!"
A teary laugh gasps out of Claudia, "Yes!! He spoke!! He finally spoke!! And he only stopped talking once we got back home and even then, it was because he fell asleep!!"
Needless to say, the Stilinskis had no idea what awaited them now that Mieczysław 'Mischief' Stilinski started speaking.

The Hales are one of the only families in Beacon Hills that can afford one of the new line of robots. Talia brings one home to do light housekeeping, but mostly as a caretaker for her younger brother, Peter, who was caught in a house fire. Laura Hale doesn't think they need a robot, especially not a weird looking one such as this, but Derek and Cora find him kind of cool. Since the only Hale that would have been able to pronounce the name the manufacturers gave the robot is Peter, the younger two collaborate and come up with the name 'Stiles'(After the Stilinski company that made this particular one.). Most of Stiles' time is spent tending to Peter, but on occasion, he helps the kids with their homework(Stiles is very good at researching things.), attempts to help Derek practice basketball, and has been recruited by the 10 year old Cora to play 'super top secret agent spies'. When the housework is done, of course.
Teen Wolf kid mystery AU:
Beacon Hills' local libraries put on monthly mystery events for kids of all ages. The greatest mystery authors' books are in the spotlight, the kids are divided into teams of 5 and the librarians give out clues at the beginning of the events. Stiles, Lydia, Scott, Jackson, and Danny are usually grouped together, but Jackson and Lydia are fighting again, which means the redhead is off doing something else instead, Scott has recently befriended the new girl, Kira, and Isaac Lahey and gives some major puppy eyes, meaning this month, Stiles is grouped with the Hales. Cora is the only one near his age, her siblings and uncle being several years older. The first clue leads to a book about hiding things in plain sight, which leads them to a window with a couple plants, one of which is a fake that has the next clue taped to the bottom. The clues lead them all over the town throughout the month, hidden in random places like the photo wall at the diner, or underneath the slide at the park. Stiles and the Hales are in the lead.
At 6 years old, Stiles is already really good at solving mysteries and no one else has come close. Until Peter, who's practically an adult at 17, and treats Stiles like one as well. Stiles is in love. Or as in love as a 6 year old can be.
Scott's group ends up winning by accident when Isaac's dad is arrested, Isaac and Camden waiting in the Sheriff's office, when the younger picks up a book on cyphers that was left on a short bookcase and opens it to find the last clue.
